This transfer comes amidst the Coronavirus pandemic crisis and is rumoured to come in after the mismanagement of COVID-19 outbreak by the Civic Body.
Karnataka has seen a sudden surge in the number of COVID-19 cases and the State Government imposing various measures to curb its spread. The city of Bengaluru has reported the maximum number of cases in that state with total mounting to 25,288. Previously, the Civic Body Commissioner and Mayor of Bengaluru had asked for an extension of lockdown in the city.
