3:20Now PlayingAs a part of planning to control COVID-19 spread, the Tamil Nadu government declared all Sundays in the month of July as a total lockdown.
The decision was made after repeated instances of people not following Social distancing during Sundays at Market places, butcher shops, and fish markets, and was constantly highlighted by media.
Such tactics seem to have definitely worked well in Chennai where numbers have definitely come down after the 6th lockdown but other districts in the State are turning worrisome.
COVID-19 infection numbers have turned to be an average 200 in districts like Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Madurai, and Chengalpet while an of 100 in Trichy, Virudhunagar, and Kanyakumari.
Chief Minister Edapadi K Palanisamy has stated that another complete lockdown cannot be planned unless extremely necessary as he needs to worry about people's livelihood and has requested people to follow 'social distancing' norms.
