There have been a total of 896 COVID cases in the region including 27 deaths reported so far. The municipal corporations of the Sangli and Miraj areas have urged the people in these rural areas to follow social distancing and observe the 'janata curfew.'
The Maharashtra Minister Jayant Patil tweeted after the lockdown announcement and urged people to cooperate with the authorities and follow the guidelines announced to curb the spread of the pandemic.
