5:24Now PlayingUttar Pradesh: A 19-year-old Dalit woman in Uttar Pradesh was gang-raped by four upper-caste men in Hathras District on September 14. The victim succumbed to her injuries in Delhi's Safdarjung hospital. She was left in a pathetic condition with her tongue chopped off and the body paralyzed.
The UP Police cremated the victim's body midnight apparently without the family's consent. Now the UP Police has excused itself of the same saying it did so to avoid the commotion.
High Court has stepped into the matter and has sent a notice to the UP government. The court has also asked Additional Chief Secretary, DGP, ADG Law & Order, DM and District SP along with UP Government top officials to present their version with evidence before the court on 12th October and the family of the victim has also been asked to appear on the same day.
