11:30Now PlayingAs the number of COVID cases have been rising in the states of Maharashtra, Kerala and other states; the government sources are telling us that the focus is now shifting to a potential role of COVID-19 variant strain. Nearly 900 samples have been sent for genome sequencing from Kerala and Maharashtra.
The genome sequencing will reveal whether the variant strain is from UK, South Africa or Brazil. Not only samples from Kerala and Maharashtra, possible samples from Punjab and Bengaluru have also been sent for genome sequencing. The Health Ministry has told us micro-level monitoring is being done in the states of Maharashtra and Kerala. Is Variant strain behind the surge in COVID-19 cases?
