Deshmukh made the remark in a late-night tweet, along with a copy of his March 21 letter to Thackeray, in which he demanded an immediate investigation into Singh's accusation.
On March 20, Singh claimed in an eight-page letter to Thackeray that Deshmukh wanted police officers to collect Rs 100 crore monthly from bars and hotels, causing a stir in Maharashtra's political circles. On Wednesday, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray would speak about the charges against his government at the "right time."
