2:27Now PlayingAfter the electronic voting machine used to cast the ballots was discovered in a car belonging to a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate, the Election Commission suspended four poll officials and ordered repolling in a booth in Assam's Ratabari constituency. The presiding officer, who was in charge of the EVM's transportation, was among those who were suspended.
According to the polling body's survey, the EVM's seal was found intact 'without any harm whatsoever' during inspection. One of the polling officers was absent until Thursday morning because he was hiding, according to the poll panel, and a search operation was conducted all night.
