as posted by the channelRakesh Pandita, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, was shot and killed in the Tral area of Pulwama district in Jammu & Kashmir on Wednesday. When suspected militants opened fire on the politician, he was on his way to see a friend named Mushtaq Ahmed. Asifa Mushtaq, Ahmed's daughter, was also reportedly injured and is in critical condition. Pandita was brought to SDH Tral, where physicians immediately proclaimed him dead. Pandita had been given two protective service officers and a secured hotel room in Srinagar, according to the Kashmir Zone Police, but he travelled to Tral without the security cover.
