This comes after sources close to the ongoing talks between Pfizer and Moderna and the Indian government told India Today TV that giving indemnification to these US-based pharmaceutical behemoths will not be a problem at this point. Pfizer-BioNTech was in talks with the Indian government last year and had filed to the regulators for an emergency use authorization (EUA) for its vaccine. Pfizer, on the other hand, insisted on waiving the bridging studies and lobbied for legal protection through indemnity.
