45:26Now PlayingIn this episode of The Urban Debate, Tanvi Shukla discusses the recent scam that has now come to light from the state of Maharashtra. A major scam has been exposed in the Financial Capital of the country, wherein fake vaccination drives were organised for housing societies. Mumbai was the first city that saw vaccination drives being organised for the housing societies in the compound of the buildings. However, it has now come to light that the residents of the buildings were given fake doses of vaccination. The Hiranandani society situated in Mumbai's Kandivali area claimed that they were given fake vaccine doses and that the fraudsters claimed to be officials of the Kokilaben Hospital. The hospital issued a clarification soon after, stating that no such drives were organised. It has also been discovered that this was not a single incident, many such fake camps were organized for colleges and corporates as well.
It is important for the country to be alert, they register on vaccination apps and don't take shortcuts. Citizens should make sure of correct batch numbers on their vaccination certificate, says Dr Pratit Samdani.
