Twitter was summoned in front of a Joint Parliamentary Panel which was headed by Dr Shashi Tharoor of the Congress Party. This is in connection with the social media giant failing to follow the policy of the land. The panel confronted Twitter on whether they will be following the policies of the land, and the micro-blogging platform responded that their policies are important to them and that they adhere to them. The panel objected to Twitter's defiance. Just a few days ago, Twitter even lost its legal immunity. According to the agency report, the panel rapped Twitter and stated the supremacy of the law of the land.
