31:26Now PlayingIn this episode of The Urban Debate, Tanvi Shukla discusses the ongoing COVID crisis in the state of Kerala. Kerala along with Maharashtra have been two of the worst-hit states by the COVID-19 pandemic. The situation worsened off during the second wave and even though Mumbai managed to bring the case count under control, Kerala's daily case count raised alarms of concern. With the fears of third-wave looming on the heads, the Kerala government announced relaxations ahead of Eid-al-Adha this year. Massive crowds were witnessed and the fresh COVID cases tally reached the 22,000 marks in just 24 hours. The Kerala government has once again decided to ease the curbs which have been put in place by the expert panel, which was sent by the Central government. Laxity and lapses on the part of the state government have come to the fore.
