'The aim was to win a Gold medal, but I am very happy with Bronze as well', she tells TIMES NOW. She adds that I am grateful to the people of Assam and am excited to go home. Borgohain lost to the world champ Busenaz Surmeneli in the women’s welterweight semifinal (69kg) of the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and brought home a Bronze Medal at Tokyo 2020. The 23-year old became the third Indian boxer, after Mary Kom and Vijender Singh to win a boxing medal at the Olympics. Borgohain said she would dedicate her medal to the country.
