She has been the legal advisor of Babul Supriyo, and had earlier contested the 2015 Kolkata Municipal Council elections as a BJP candidate for the high profile seat, but lost to Trinamool Congress’ Swapna Samdar. The Trinamool Congress had accused the center of using its central agencies to target the ruling party in West Bengal. Banerjee had lost to BJP’s Suvendhu Adhikari in the state election in May, for the battle in Nandigram. Watch the video to know more.
