The rules against temple land grabbing have now changed, making it a cognizable and non-bailable offence in Tamil Nadu. The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act has now been amended and the law will be empowering anyone who wishes to lodge a complaint against all encroachers of temples land. This comes after the Tamil Nadu government launched a massive drive to retrieve the temple lands which were encroached upon.
