Sep 16, 20219:34Now PlayingThe speculations in Indian media regarding Rohit Sharma succeeding Virat Kohli as India's ODI and T20I captain after the T20 World Cup seem to hold substance. The story, which was first published in a prominent newspaper daily, threw the country into a frenzy since the notion of divided captaincy has been much debated, but the BCCI appears to had taken no action on it. While Kohli has been an excellent Test captain, leading India to 38 victories from 65 matches, the squad has yet to win a major prize since MS Dhoni stepped down in 2017. Meanwhile, Rohit has demonstrated his leadership abilities on several occasions. He has won five IPL titles with the Mumbai Indians. The statement from BCCI tells us that Rohit will be taking over the captainship however Virat is to continue contributing as a part of the team in T20 world cup
