Sep 17, 20213:16Now PlayingA lady and her 26-year-old son were killed on a pothole-riddled road in Maharashtra's Thane district on Friday, police said. They were going home on a two-wheeler after having 'darshan' of Lord Ganesh idol at a relative's residence. They claimed the incident happened on Thursday afternoon near the Mankoli intersection in Bhiwandi town, on the Mumbai-Nashik route. Devikabai Balaram Kakade (48) and her son Nitin were recognized as the victims. They were hit from behind by a speeding vehicle. The victims were taken to a hospital, where medics declared them dead. Under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code, a complaint has been filed against the vehicle's unnamed driver.
