6:23Now PlayingThe Supreme Court today ordered the release of AG Perarivalan. He was convicted in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. One of the 7 life convicts in the case, he was in jail for 31 years, for assisting the mastermind, Sivarasan, in the then Rajiv Gandhi's assassination in 1991. He was convicted in 1998. His release was based on 3 reasons. But, the most prominent, which the courts are emphasising, is Section 302 of the IPC, which gives the state the right to decide in matters of murder. He spent 16 years on death row and the rest in solitary confinement. His family was rendered emotional. He is seen celebrating his return. Listen in to what everyone thinks of this move!
