YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThe winter session of the state legislature will convene in Belagavi, the epicenter of the Karnataka-Maharashtra dispute, on Monday for ten days. With Assembly elections scheduled for April-May of next year, this will be the last winter session in the northern Karnataka city for the current Bommai administration. Predictably, the BJP government intends to push critical legislation while the opposition prepares to corner it on a variety of issues, including corruption. The BJP government is pushing ahead with plans to increase Scheduled Caste reservation from 15% to 17%, and Scheduled Tribe reservation from 3% to 7%, exceeding the Supreme Court's 50% reservation cap.
