28:00Now PlayingIn this episode of Mirror Metro, the host Shreya Dhoundial will be discussing how it's the battle of resolutions between Karnataka and Maharashtra. Last week the Karnataka assembly passed a resolution condemning Maharashtra for claiming parts of the Belagavi region, 865 villages to be specific. Today, a resolution on the Maharashtra-Karnataka border issue was overwhelmingly adopted by the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly who reiterated Maharashtra's claim to the villages in the disputed area and denounced the "atrocities" committed by the Karnataka government against the Marathi-speaking community there.
A few panelists join us.
"Ask the people of Belagavi if they want to align themselves with Maharashtra. They will say no...then why should it fight for border? BJP is only eyeing elections," said Abdul Razack Khan, Political Analyst.
"The issue that couldn't be solved in 60 years, it is expected to be solved in just months (since the BJP & Eknath Shinde govt came to power in Maharashtra),” said BJP's Ali Daruwala.
