7:23Now PlayingTop News | Judge Abhijit Gangopadhyay of the Calcutta High Court has announced his intention to step down from his position and enter politics on Tuesday. Justice Gangopadhyay said that he will be sending a letter of resignation to the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court, and Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud. According to media sources, Gangopadhyay was going to enter politics, presumably as the BJP's candidate from the Tamluk parliamentary constituency in West Bengal. But after resigning on Tuesday, Gangopadhyay said he will choose which political party to join.
