The U.S. government is spending nearly a billion dollars to convince immigrants to leave the country, and the fine print could cost you everything. 🚨 The administration launched Project Homecoming, offering stipends of up to twenty-six hundred dollars and free flights to immigrants who agree to self-deport. Officials claim that two point two million people have self-deported, but internal documents show that only about seventy-two thousand actually left through the program. More than half were already in ICE detention when they signed up. People in detention are being forced to choose between staying locked up while fighting their case or accepting a quick exit with a small payment. What the government does not clearly explain is what you give up. Voluntary departure can trigger years-long bans on reentering the United States. If you leave now, you may not be able to come back legally for years, even if you had a strong asylum claim. 📄 Attorneys report that flyers are being inserted into immigration paperwork with QR codes urging people to download an app and book a flight home. The concern is that many people may treat those flyers as legal advice without understanding the consequences. Experts also point out that hundreds of thousands of people already leave the United States voluntarily each year, while the government is spending massive amounts of money to claim credit for it. This program is designed to move fast and keep people uninformed. But losing hope is not the only option. ⚖️ It is still possible to win asylum in the United States if you fear harm in your country and have proper legal support. No one should sign away their right to return because a government flyer told them to download an app. I’m Brian Manning. If you need help with an asylum case, send me the word “CONSULT” in a direct message.
