ICE is now arresting more than eleven hundred people per day across the United States, and the places where arrests are rising fastest might not be where you expect. 🚨 New data shows that enforcement has shifted dramatically in twenty twenty-six. Cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, and Minneapolis saw massive raids and heavy media coverage, but arrests there have actually dropped in recent months. Meanwhile, Miami, Dallas, Atlanta, and San Antonio have quietly racked up the highest arrest numbers in the country. Miami alone has seen more than forty-one thousand arrests since Trump took office, more than any other ICE field office. A former ICE chief of staff explained that the surge operations actually slowed enforcement because officers were pulled away from their regular assignments to staff raids in other locations. The areas that continued operating as usual are where arrest numbers climbed the most. 📄 In cities with so-called sanctuary policies, ICE mostly arrested people with no criminal record. The government says it needs local police cooperation to avoid street operations, but when those operations happened, many of the people arrested had no violent criminal history. ICE also has more than seven million people on its non-detained docket. Many entered the country legally through humanitarian programs that this administration has revoked or is trying to revoke. These are people who followed the rules and are now enforcement targets. ⚖️ Every one of those arrests represents a person, a family, and a life thrown into chaos. The programs were revoked, the rules were changed, and now the people who followed those rules are the ones being targeted.
