Trump tried to remove Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook and got rebuffed by the Supreme Court in a 5-4 decision. The Court said he could not fire her before she had an opportunity to answer the allegations.
Now the White House is back with another letter, giving Cook 21 days to respond to mortgage-fraud allegations even though she has not been charged with a crime.
Roland Martin is not treating this like a real legal case. He says if they want her, then charge her. If they cannot charge her, then this looks like intimidation and another political attack dressed up as process.
Trump keeps going after Black people, especially Black women. Lisa Cook is highly qualified, but Roland says none of that matters to people who will still try to reduce Black excellence to “DEI” while weaponizing institutions against her.
