1:38Now PlayingRussell described what his daily life actually looks like now, staying conscious about everything he eats, says, and does so he doesn't slip into old habits without thinking. He explained his routine of regularly exposing himself to extreme heat and cold, drawing on a lesson that the moment in front of you isn't what's bothering you, you're the one bothering yourself about it. He also talked about practicing Brazilian jiu jitsu a few times a week, not because it came naturally, but because of the strange trust it builds between people, being choked to the point of tapping out, then it's simply over. Russell connected all of it to an older, more ancestral way of living, one built around touch, community, and shared physical experience rather than isolation.
