Today I'm addressing what has been dubbed the adpocalypse. After the Wall Street Journal attacked Pewdiepie, by taking obvious jokes, from his videos out of context. They followed this up by attacking every youtuber's source of income, the advertisers. Even though it is known, that the ads running in front of videos on this platform, have nothing to do with the content of the videos, the old media, has decided to use their diminishing influence to pressure advertizers to leave youtube. This is done by seeking out and highlighting small instances of ads running on racist content. Due to the fact that companies are terrified of any negative publicity, many have fled this patform, even though no reasonable person would actually assume an association with the brands that use adsense, and content creators. This has had a ripple effect on many content creators, medium and large. However, this also may deter new, and newish small content creators, from ever attempting to make new videos. This is what I speak to in my video. I first attempt to give a quick overview, then follow it up with my perspective, as a really small content creator.
