29:12Now PlayingTucker Carlson sat down with John Mearsheimer to discuss the growing crisis involving Iran, Israel, the United States, Lebanon, Hezbollah, and the Strait of Hormuz.
In this reaction, I break down Mearsheimer’s argument that Trump is under enormous economic and political pressure to end the conflict with Iran because of the global consequences of the Strait of Hormuz being shut down. But Iran’s condition for a deal is that Israel pulls back from Lebanon — something Netanyahu and Israel do not want to do, because it could allow Hezbollah and Iran’s proxies to regroup, rearm, and restart the cycle all over again.
The real question is: Is Trump pressuring Bibi because Iran has leverage, or because America cannot afford a prolonged regional war?
I also explain why Israel’s military dependence on the United States creates a strategic problem, and why Israel may need to become far more self-reliant if it wants to finish wars on its own terms.
Topics covered:
Trump and Netanyahu
Tucker Carlson and John Mearsheimer
Iran and the Strait of Hormuz
Hezbollah and Lebanon
U.S. pressure on Israel
Oil prices, inflation, and the global economy
Israel’s military dependence on America
The Iran-Israel conflict
Watch the full reaction and let me know: Should Trump pressure Israel to end the war, or should Israel ignore international pressure and finish the job?
