Adult enrollment in Medicaid has increased grew during the Covid-19 pandemic, growing more than 40% through the end of 2022, cutting the rate of the uninsured. At the same time we drove child poverty to a record low. If Joe Biden and the Democrats need a W going in 2024, why not claim their incredible government programs that literally helped save lives?
The roughly $5 trillion in pandemic aid and economic stimulus which went to low-income households, small businesses, schools, and local governments helped rebound our economy in both an on-the-ground and large scale way.
The Biden administration should have winning economic message going into reelection. But now those benefits are going away. Economic policies that help working people are popular, millions were kept out of poverty during Covid-19. Why not put money in people’s hands every year?
