Donald Trump’s Supreme Court packing has finally paid off bigly. In a recent case, SCOTUS ruled that Colorado is not able to keep Trump off the ballot because of their cited reason, insurrection. This ruling will also apply to Maine and Illinois, two places that passed similar measures as Colorado. This ruling might not have a massive effect in this upcoming presidential election, but it makes it much more difficult for anyone to be ruled ineligible for public office as the 14th amendment supposedly dictates. States rights are cool when they accomplish the right’s goals, but I guess they don’t apply when the people stand to gain, huh?
Since 2016, liberals have attempted to use the legal system and the courts to remove Trump from office, or even hold him accountable for all the wrongdoing he’s gotten up to during his political career. Unfortunately for them, the courts are really not all that interested in saving American Democracy from itself. We had the Mueller report during Trump’s presidency, and all sorts of similar things since, and all of it has gone nowhere. If Liberals want to beat Trump, they’re going to have to work for it. The mods are not coming to save us.
