Taylor Lorenz, tech journalist, published an interview with Chaya Raichik, creator of LibsofTikTok. Raichik has run LibsofTikTok for roughly three years, peddling hatred and harassment of LGBTQIA people and places where gender-affirming care for trans people is provided. For the people and places on the receiving end of Raichik’s tweets, there have been bomb threats and worse.

Lorenz questioned Raichik for an hour on various topics, including the violent effects of her words, whether trans people should be allowed to exist in public or private, the harm of trans people existing at all, whether gender is a social construct, and so much more. Raichik has had an incredibly harmful effect in a very short amount of time, but her influence has recently grown on the ground in Oklahoma. There, she was recently appointed to the Oklahoma Library Media Advisory Committee by a Superintendent who is a huge fan.
