The alleged United Healthcare CEO assassin has been nabbed, and he has pled not guilty. His name is Luigi Mangioni and he's 26 years old and beyond having amazing abs, also suffered from immense back pain. But pleading guilty is an interesting move given that he did have a manifesto that not only effectively cops to the crime but details a list of grievances with the private healthcare industry and UnitedHealthcare specifically. In his extradition he also yelled at cameras that his arrest was “out of touch with the American people and their lived experiences.”
If the outlaw folk hero worship online is real, Mangioni seems to definitely be playing into it. And yet, his entire life story doesn’t lead one to believe that he could be an unhinged murderer. He is from a wealthy family, was valedictorian, an engineer, surfer and all around a guy who many vouched for as not violent. Will all of this hold up in court?
