25:14Now PlayingDonald Trump's ongoing temper tantrum over Canada just took an absolutely ridiculous turn: he wants the United States to call Lake Ontario "Lake America."
Yes. Seriously.
After U.S.-Canada trade negotiations collapsed, Canada refused to accept a deal it considered unacceptable and began preparing for a very different economic relationship with the United States. Canadian leaders have been discussing retaliatory tariffs, protecting Canadian workers and businesses, diversifying trade, and reducing the country's economic dependence on its southern neighbor.
Donald Trump has responded with increasingly hostile rhetoric toward Canada.
And now we're renaming lakes.
In this video, we're having some fun with the absurdity of "Lake America," Canada's reaction to Trump's latest move, and the increasingly bizarre political spectacle surrounding what is actually a very serious trade dispute between two of the world's most economically interconnected countries.
Because behind all the jokes are real consequences.
American and Canadian farmers, manufacturers, truckers, small businesses, and working-class families could ultimately pay the price for this escalating trade war.
But sometimes a story comes along that is simply too ridiculous not to laugh at.
Welcome to Lake America. 😂
