According to the Tuesday hearings from the January 6th Committee, Mark Meadows actually offered Georgia officials a "load of MAGA stuff" if they would be willing to break the law and overturn their state's 2020 election results. This "MAGA stuff" included coins and autographed hats, according to text messages that the Committee has reviewed. In Meadows' mind, a couple of hats was apparently enough for people to violate the Constitution, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

So yesterday we had another round of explosive hearings from the January 6th committee. And, uh, one of the plans that we learned about from mark Meadow's own text messages was that Meadows had actually offered officials, uh, in the states in order to overturn the results of their 2020 elections. He offered them quote, a shitload of POTUS stuff. Here is Adam Schiff, reading word for word, what the text message said, Mark Meadows was offering people willing to of course, subvert the constitution and what they would get in exchange. Here it is.

The psych committee has received text messages indicating that Mark Meadows wanted to send some of the investigators in her office in the words of one white house aid, a shitload of POTUS stuff, including coins, actual autograph Mahas cetera, white house staff intervened to make sure that didn't happen. It was clear at the time of this call that the former president had his site set on January 6th.

You know, I've I frequently said, and I feel it bears repeating here that had this cool attempt from the Trump. People been carried out by anyone with even a little bit of competence. It could have gone very differently in a very horrible way for the United States. But luckily, I mean, honestly, luckily we had some of the dumbest, most incompetent people trying to pull off this coup I mean, could you imagine Mark Meadows, chief of staff to the president of the United States reaching out to you and saying, Hey, how would you like to overturn your state's 20, 20 election results? And of course you respond with, well, I, I don't think legally I can do that. You know, that really is a violation of the constitution. It's a violation of the will of the people. Uh, probably not something I want to get involved in, cuz I don't wanna spend the rest of my life in jail. And then Mark Meadows comes back and says, well, hold up now there's more act now and you can get a free mega hat signed by Donald Trump himself. Does that sweeten the deal for you? No, no, no, no. I don't want your hats. I don't want your coins. I don't want your other Maga crap. I'm not going to break the law for you, but that's what Mark Meadows really genuinely believed would sweeten the deal. He honestly thought he could get this, these, these officials to just undo the entire United States system of government in exchange for a hat.

Again, a competent person might have been able to pull this off. And of course that's even more terrifying, but we got people like Mark Meadows who thought they could trade hats for votes and it, it didn't end well for them. And of course, as I said, that was just one of many explosive revelations that we learned about on Tuesday. Um, and sure it is laughable, but it's also horrific. They came very close. They came exceptionally close to actually pulling this off hats or no hats, right? That's what should terrify everybody. And that of course is what we're learning more and more about as these hearings continue. And I hope that we continue to get explosive revelations like that. And obviously there's a lot more that happened. We're gonna be talking about that all throughout the day today, but I had to talk about this thing from Mark Meadows, right?
