Republicans have been calling for investigations into Dr. Anthony Fauci for more than a year, and with them poised to take back the House of Representatives after the midterms, it seems like that could be a real possibility. But Fauci isn't scared, and he said in a recent interview that Republicans can "go ahead" and do whatever they want. If he had something to hide, his statement would have likely been a little more fearful, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

We all know that Republicans have two big targets for the investigations they wanna launch. Should they take back the house of representatives in November? The first of course is hunter Biden, right? For the next two years, if Republicans have the house, it's gonna be hunter Biden all day, all night, all the time. The other investigation that Republicans have just been itching to launch for a couple years now is of course, an investigation and a Dr. Anthony Fauci. And during an interview with news nation this week, Fauci was asked about that. Like, Hey Republicans, they wanna investigate you. What do you have to say about that? And Fauci responded thusly. I testified before Congress a little more than 250 times over the last 38 years, I have no trouble testifying. Wh when they say they're going to investigate everything about me, all the records are out there.

Every one of my emails practically have been fo through the freedom of information act. Uh, if they're going to investigate me, I'd like to ask, investigate me for what for telling people to get vaccinated for telling people, to wear a mask for telling people to abide by common sense, good public health practices. Basically what Fauci is saying here is, look, if you wanna investigate me first, just tell me why second, bring it on. Like, what do I have to hide? I've been in public service for 38 years, 250 times or more. I've gone to Congress under oath and testified about this and that. And the other thing. So you wanna investigate me, go for it. Just tell me why. At least, you know, I, I at least deserve that courtesy a little bit and we all know why Republicans think they wanna investigate Fauci. Right?

We have Republicans that literally blame him for funding, a lab that somehow created COVID 19. You know, the lab leak theory, conspiracy theory, really, uh, they think he is somehow tied into that. They wanna investigate him because maybe he's making a ton of money off these COVID treatments. And again, all of this is already publicly available. You don't need to investigate him. You just need an internet connection in Google and you can find it. It's not hard. I've looked all of this. So-called evidence of Fauci profiteering off these drugs. It's simply doesn't materialize. Are there connections that he has to, you know, some of these, uh, uh, uh, developments of drugs absolutely. Does that in any way, tarnish what he's done at that agency? Absolutely not. Nobody's been able to make that connection because it's simply, as far as I've been able to tell doesn't exist, but more importantly, Fauci is not a villain in the pandemic. He's not a hero either. He's just a guy trying to do a job based on the information that was available to him at the time. You know, we shouldn't put him up on a pedestal,

But we also shouldn't put him under those interrogations spotlights. He's an old man that was doing a job, a job that he has done for 38 years. And he's done a fairly decent job of it over the years. He's had some mistakes, absolutely who hasn't, but if they wanna investigate 'em, he's not scared. And if he had something to hide, I imagine he would be a little scared, but the fact that he's not kind of tells me, he knows Republicans, aren't gonna find anything. All they're gonna do is waste his time,
