4:27Now PlayingDonald Trump suffered a major legal defeat this week when a judge in New York ruled that Trump can NOT get the lawsuit filed against him by Attorney General Letitia James moved in front of a different judge. The judge that has been assigned to the case has a history of ruling against Trump, and he was hoping that he could get a more friendly venue just like he did with the document scandal. But he's out of luck now, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

Donald Trump suffered a major legal setback this week in the state of New York after he attempted to argue before an ad administrative judge that the judge, the unit, uh, uh, excuse me, New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur Enron, who has been assigned to the lawsuit filed against him by New York Attorney General Laeticia, James Trump, argued in front of the administrative judge, Hey, this guy's no good. You gotta move this basically to a Trump friendly judge in New York. And the administrative Judge Adams said, No, you, you have provided me with absolutely no logical sound or legal reason why this New York State Supreme Court, Justice Arthur Enron cannot hear this case. Why he can't preside over it. So I will not grant your motion for a change of venue. You got anger on, you're stuck with anger on. Um, and folks, that is a massive blow to Donald Trump because this will not be Donald Trump's first time tangling with Judge Arthur Eron.
Eron, of course, has overseen multiple aspects of the ongoing investigation by New York Attorney General and, uh, by the Manhattan da, um, during which he has pretty much consistently ruled against Donald Trump. Iran, of course, is the one who also imposed the, uh, contempt fines against Donald Trump, where he had to pay more than a hundred, uh, thousand dollars for being held in contempt for not turning over all the documents that he swore he had turned over. So Trump is stuck with this judge that he's already been off for several years. So of course it does make sense, right, that Donald Trump would be like, Hey, could we please go to literally any other judge in the state? Don't, don't exactly have a stellar record with this guy. Made him mad a couple of times. So maybe if we could change the venues, but of course, the court said no, because there's no legal reason for the change of venues.
You may not like the judge. The judge may not like you, but we haven't seen any bias in the rulings. We have no evidence that the judge doesn't like you, so we cannot grant your request. So even though this case has not gone to trial, Donald Trump has already suffered a major legal setback. And I do think that is huge, right? I mean, you're not even at trial yet, and you're already losing in court. I mean, that takes skill. I'll give him that, that takes a lot of skill. But things are not going well for Donald Trump, really in any of the cases he's currently facing, right? I mean, he had to sit for a deposition,
Uh, in the e Eugene Carroll defamation lawsuit this week, basically ever since he got his case in Florida, or you know, with the DOJ in front of Judge Cannon, nothing's gone his way since then. Yeah, Canon ruled in his favor a couple of times. The higher courts, of course, overruled a lot of that, forcing her to rewrite some of her decisions. She did give him his special master, but the special master is really just kind of lost patience with Trump and called him out repeatedly, including this week. Uh, it's kind of like Donald Trump is the, the person wishing on the monkeys, Paul, right? You get every wish, but there's like some horrible side effect to it. Like in Florida, Trump. Aha, we got it in front of the Trump friendly judge. She gave us our special master.
