Donald Trump made his grand announcement on Tuesday evening, and no one outside of his diehard base really seemed to care. His speech was very low energy, and all he did was rehash the same grievances that he's whined about for years. It was so bad that people were gathering near the exits to leave, but Trump's security wouldn't let them. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this announcement.

Well, folks, it's now official, official. Donald Trump is in fact running for president again in 2024. He made his announcement last night at Malago, but it wasn't exactly a captivating moment for Donald Trump. He got up on stage. He basically rehashed all of the same grievances that he's winded about for the last two years. And it got so bad that at one point people were piling up near the exits, but Trump's security guards wouldn't let them leave. These people specifically showed up to watch Donald Trump's announcement, and as he keeps going, they're just like, I'm done. I don't want to be here. But security wouldn't let them leave, of course, because Donald Trump didn't want to be talking to an empty room. That's not a good sign, right? That doesn't show you that people have a hell of a lot of faith in your new presidential bid. But anyway, Donald Trump did go off the rails a little bit on a couple of topics. So I do wanna show you this clip here. This is Donald Trump talking about how powerful the country was when he left office. Of course. So take a look at this one.

Two years ago when I left office, the United States stood ready for its golden age. Our nation was at the pinnacle of power, prosperity, and prestige, towering above all, rivals, vanquishing all enemies and striding into the future, confident and so strong.

When you left office, thousands upon thousands upon thousands of people were dying a day from C do. Do you not remember that? We couldn't find paper towels or paper plates or toilet paper. That's what was happening when you left office. Donald Lysol was nowhere to be found. It was rarer than gold in the United States. That was your legacy. You were letting people die because you were pretending Covid wasn't as bad as it is. We had supply chain shortages. I'm sure everybody wants to only think of the supply chain issues we've had under Biden, but it all started under Trump, and this was just a continuation of it. We were not at our pinnacle of power. We were on our knees at the mercy of a virus because of you. So let's make clear what was actually happening during that last year of the trumpet administration. It was not the greatest moment in American history. It was death and devastation, but he didn't stop there. Of course, he wanted everybody to know that last week in the midterms, he was totally a winner, definitely not a loser. So then Donald Trump went on and had this to say about how awesome his midterm victories really were. Take a look.

I do wanna point out that in the midterms, my endorsement success rate was 232 wins and only 22 losses. You don't hear that from the media. And this is an elegant night and an elegant press place. And I'm not going to use the term fake news media, so we're gonna keep it very elegant. But you don't hear that from the media, but I think you will because people are starting to see what happened that some score and in the primaries was 98.6%, but they were still trying to blame me. And the reason for the success and that unprecedented success rate is that the Trump administration changed our nation on trade, on securing the border with the strongest, safest border ever in the history of our country on Islamic terrorism.

You know, technically he's kind of right. And the reason I say that is because, yeah, more people that Trump endorsed one than lost. But that's going to happen when you endorse pretty much everybody running in a safe district, including the people who ran unopposed.
