Trump Thinks Republicans Are Stupid For Falling Into 'Democrat Traps'

So Donald Trump recently did an interview with Breitbart that was published this past week. And I gotta tell you, reading this interview kinda upped the worry factor that I have about Donald Trump in 2024. Cuz he wasn't only ranting and raving about the 2020 election, he wasn't talking about the investigations. He did what he did in 2016 and he put on his phony populist personality, talking about how he wants to protect workers and protect families and hell even protect your right to an abortion. Trump seemed like a reasonable politician in this interview, and that of course is what is terrifying for the moderate voters out there who may see this and think, oh, you know what? Maybe he's not as extreme as we thought. Maybe it is the media making us think he's extreme when really he's just a reasonable guy. That's why this interview scares me.

So I'm gonna read you an excerpt here. Um, this kind of cuts around a couple things so it's not, you know, all one continuous part of it, but he starts off by talking about the fact that Democrats jumped on, Republicans want to cut social security in this year's midterms. And the reason Democrats jumped on that, of course, is because Republicans made it clear with Rick Scott's plan, with Paul Ryan's plan that they want to cut social security. So here is what Trump had to say about that. We're not cutting social security. It's very simple. It's a simple answer. We're not cutting social security. They, the Republicans in the midterms fell into the Democrat trap. I heard that a couple guys were talking about it and I said, that's the end of his career. But it isn't a question of the career. It's a contract with the people. They go in, they work and they do, they put their blood, sweat and tears into social security. And then you have a guy like Paul Ryan or others that want to destroy it. We have a contract.

That's a good talking point. I I, I gotta give him full credit on that. That's a good talking point. I mean that's almost something like what you would hear out of at a, at a Bernie Sanders and here it's coming from Donald Trump, right? The guy that can't stop ranting and raving about things that don't exist on truth social. That's a poignant argument. And that again is why my worry level about him running in 2024 just kind of got amped up a couple of ticks because he goes on, um, he argued that Republicans must support what he called the three exceptions for abortion, for rape, incest, incest, and the life of the mother to any measures banning abortion or else they face electoral elimination in most of

America. Trump said quote, now I think a lot of Republicans didn't handle the abortion question properly. I think if you don't have the three exceptions, it's almost impossible in most parts of the country to win if you don't have three exceptions. I said to a very nice man running for governor of Pennsylvania, if you don't have the three exceptions, you can't win that. Well, first of all, it shouldn't be banned anywhere, but he understands that. Yeah, Republicans got crushed on the issue of abortion. And a lot of it with the moderates had to do with the fact that many of these bands that were being put in place had no exceptions. Trump is painting himself as a moderate, as a populist. I'm for the working people. They work hard for social security. We're gonna make sure they get it.
