DeSantis Gets Slammed By Health Experts Over Politically Driven Vaccine Investigation

Florida governor Ron DeSantis is pushing ahead with his idiotic investigation into vaccine manufacturers (which is a political stunt to gain favor with the MAGA crowd), and health experts are speaking out about this waste of taxpayer money. Experts have slammed DeSantis for this fishing expedition while ignoring the fact that he's allowed more than 80,000 Floridians die from COVID since 2020. Health experts from all over the country are out there speaking out against Florida. Governor Ron DeSantis attempt to investigate the vaccine manufacturers who gave us the Covid 19 vaccine that basically a year and a half ago, Ron DeSantis was out there telling everybody, go get this thing hell, he shipped it around el elderly communities in the back of a van, going to their homes saying, all you gotta do is walk outside, come to the van, we'll give you the vaccine. That's how much faith DeSantis had in it at the time. And as we all know, a couple weeks ago, DeSantis announced in that ridiculous press conference that he wants a grand jury in the state of Florida to investigate these people because he says, we've had far too many injuries. And his claim is based on a faulty report put out by Florida Surgeon General Joseph La Dapo.

Uh, he put out a report not that long ago saying, or making the claim that there is an increased risk of cardiac event in young men who have received the Covid 19 vaccine experts, of course, slammed that report because they said the data itself was faulty and of course it wasn't peer reviewed, but should put it out there anyway, which is not how the scientific process works. So they've picked it apart. But nevertheless, DeSantis understands this is a political move. He wants to score more political points with the MAGA anti-vaxxers. So he's launching this investigation and health experts are furious. They're calling it a course a waste of taxpayer dollars, but more importantly, a complete and total attack on science, which is fairly accurate because that is exactly what it is. So here's a couple statements you have. Uh, George, uh, Benjamin, executive director of the American Public Health Association said, quote, his understanding of the facts, or at least his articulation of the facts are just wrong.

It actually turned out to be a whole lot better than most people thought it would be. Talking about the Covid 19 vaccine, you have William Schaffer, professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University. He said he was baffled that DeSantis doesn't think health professionals are capable of handling vaccine development, distribution. Of course, you had the, uh, vice Dean for public health practice and community engagement at Johns Hopkins University, Joshua Sharpstein, who said, this is turning a matter of health and science into a political wedge issue with the likely consequence that many people will be misled into placing themselves and their families at risk of serious illness and death. So Ron DeSantis is no stranger to serious illness and death. He's allowed more than 80,000 Floridians to die from covid 19. Many of them that died in the last year, not vaccinated. He did that.

Like you going out there not encouraging these vaccines, backing off your initial push, telling people that we're not gonna let you protect children in schools. And if you do tell kids they have to wear a mask, I'm going to punish you. That's on you. You are the leader. It's all on you, Ron. But this attack on science has gone too far. This is no different, in my opinion, than what we have seen from the fossil fuel companies attacking the science of climate change. We know that climate change is real.
