Fox News May Be Hyper Focused On The WRONG Defamation Lawsuit

The defamation lawsuit against Fox News by Dominion Voting Systems has been dominating the news, but the network could be facing an even bigger problem with the defamation lawsuit from Smartmatic. The particular lawsuit is seeking $2.7 billion from the network, and they have identified in their filings at least 100 false claims that the network aired about them. Fox News and their uh, uh, defamation lawsuit they're defending themselves against from Dominion. Voting Systems been in the headlines a lot recently. Dominion's been in the headlines. Fox has been in the headlines. All the text messages and revelations have been in the headlines from Dominion's court filings. But while that seems to be sucking up all of the oxygen, and of course rightfully so, the trial is next month, uh, Fox News might be hyper-focused on the wrong defamation lawsuit because they're still facing one from Smartmatic, another voting software company. And unlike Dominion, Smartmatic is seeking 2.7 billion in damages from Fox News, whereas Dominion's only seeking 1.6 billion. And here's why the Smartmatic Lawsuit might be even more problematic for Fox News. According to Smartmatic filings, which by the way, last week, a federal judge once again ruled that that lawsuit can move forward.

So Fox News suffered a major loss last week that virtually nobody noticed, but D uh, smart mad claims that they have more than 100 instances on Fox News where they lied about smart mad business operations related to the 2020 elections. Here's just the sampling of them. One, they claim that Smart Mat, uh, smart Matt, worked hand in hand with Dominion. That's not true at all because the two are actually corporate rivals. They have never once worked together. In fact, it's either Smart, mad, or Dominion, not a combination of the two. So their business rivals. Number two, Fox News claimed that Smart Mad was all over the country flipping votes. They were in operation in one county, Los Angeles County, California. That's it. Like that's where Smart Mad was. They also claimed that the company was founded in Venezuela. That's, you know, the whole Hugo Chavez's ghost thing that Sid Powell said in that press conference where Rudy Giuliani's face was melting.

Um, nope. It was actually founded in Boca Raton, Florida following the hanging Chad incident from the uh, tw uh, 2000 election recount in the state of Florida. So those are just three. So there's at least 97 more false claims that Fox News made according to Smartmatic in their lawsuit. And some of them do get obviously pretty down and dirty. They accuse them of flipping votes, you know, manipulating things behind the scene, yada yada, all that. Smartmatic has a phenomenal case. Now, of course, just like with Dominion, just because you've got them lying about you doesn't necessarily mean that you win because sometimes our defamation, slander and libel laws here in the United States are a

Little bit backwards. So Smartmatic is gonna have to prove that Fox News knew that all of these things they were saying were lies. Or they should have had the wherewithal to do their due diligence to make sure they weren't lying. I think on the second part there, you know, showing that even if they didn't know it was a lie, it was something they could have easily looked up before they went on the air. I think smart Matt can get 'em on that, which will put 'em on the path to victory. And one of the biggest complaints that Fox News has is hold up. You're suing us for 2.7 billion. You're not worth that much. You haven't lost that much business.
