Kevin McCarthy Begs Reporters To Ask Him About ‘Anything Else’ After Shooting

While walking the halls of Congress on Tuesday, reporters caught up to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to ask questions about the tragedy that took place just the day before. But McCarthy didn't want to talk about it, and told reporters that they could ask him about "anything else" so he didn't have to talk about the real issue. House speaker Kevin McCarthy literally told reporters this week that he would talk about anything else in the world other than the tragedy that happened in Nashville earlier this week. Kevin McCarthy, as they all do, was walking through the halls of Congress. Reporters caught up to him, and here is how that exchange took place. Kevin McCarthy says, okay, let me just tell you. I'm not going to answer any questions. You can walk with me. We can talk about new movies, we can talk about your lives. We can talk about what you're doing for Easter. Anything else reporter asked, but why won't you answer questions about what happened? McCarthy answered, I have to go to work. Now. Another reporter chimes in. There's obviously a grieving community there. There's obviously a question to which McCarthy snapped back. Let me ask you guys a question. Do you believe what I tell you? What did I say on the way out?

McCarthy doesn't want to talk about the tough issues. McCarthy ran away from reporters and told them, look, I'll talk to you about movies as a new John Wick out. That's fun. I don't know if y'all saw an man. We can discuss that. What are you doing for Easter? You doing a ham? You doing a prime rib? What do you, what do you got? Uh, e egg hunt with your kids? I'll talk about anything else. He said, literally, anything else other than one of the big, uh, biggest issues in the country right now. That's our speaker of the House folks. Talk to him about all the stupid crap you can come up with, but don't you dare ask him a question about things that actually matter. He doesn't want to answer that he's got work to do. Yeah, you're right. You got work to do.

You've got a massive gun crisis on your hands here in the United States, and you're doing nothing about it. You're doing absolutely nothing. You're doing less than nothing because you won't even chit-chat about it. You won't even address the grieving community. You won't do anything because your big money donors don't want you to do anything because the NRA doesn't want you to do anything. Ignoring the fact that a majority of NRA members think that we should enact common sense gun uh, legislation, universal background checks, red flag laws, majority of the country believes that the only place where there is a division about whether or not we need gun control is in the halls of Congress, and it's because of the money from the NRA and the gun industry going to these politicians outside of Congress. There is no debate among the American people. The vast majority of us are all on the same page. Gun owners and gun haters alike agree on this issue, but Kevin McCarthy won't even talk about it.
