as posted by the channel

A former federal prosecutor is urging special prosecutor Jack Smith to send Trump to jail as he awaits trial due to the threatening language that Trump has used repeatedly in recent days. Trump has not only suggested that his "passionate" supporters could become "dangerous", but he's also suggested on Truth Social that he could retaliate against the prosecutors. Others in his situation - stealing classified documents - have been jailed prior to trial, but Trump is getting special treatment that is unheard of. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

In just the past few days, Donald Trump has sent out multiple statements, I guess we could call them that many, including myself, have perceived to be threats. It started last week when Donald Trump went on an Iowa conservatives, uh, radio talk show where he admitted that I've got a passionate base and if I get indicted again, it could become dangerous, you know, which is kind of like his dog whistle to these people. Like, Hey, if you're passionate about me, I'm gonna be indicted again. You need to be on the ready. And then couple days after that, he doubled down reshared a post on truth social, initially posted by another user that took a clip of Donald Trump saying that, uh, if you mess with us, we're gonna hit you back even harder in ways that nobody's ever thought of. Uh, it's kind of paraphrasing it. And that phrase was initially spoken by Donald Trump, uh, talking about Iran attacking the United States, but the Iran references were removed and it was made to make it seem like Trump was saying that about the prosecutors.

And Trump re-shared it knowing that that vital context had been removed and it was just Trump issuing a blanket threat. So those are the two threats that Donald Trump has effectively issued within just the last week. So former federal, uh, federal prosecutor and legal expert, Glenn Kirchner, actually appeared in the media over the weekend to suggest that special prosecutor Jack Smith, needs to take the extraordinary measure of jailing Donald Trump pending his trials. Donald Trump, according to Kirchner, is basically either directly threatening or sending out these kind of coded messages to his base. That means there could be an attack and that needs to be put to an end. And the only way to end that is to stick Donald Trump in jail as he awaits his trial. Let me read you what Kirchner said. This is part of what Kirchner said Donald Trump should be detained pending trial. And I say that not from my own personal preference or animosity I have for the man.

I say it because the law provides that when there is a clear and convincing evidence that a defendant pending trial presents a danger to the community, he is supposed to be detained or she is supposed to be detained, pending, pending trial. That's the law. Everyone has ignored that when it comes to Donald Trump and Kirchner again, given his experience as a former federal prosecutor, he's a hundred percent right. But I'm gonna take it one step further because it's not just the threats that should result in Donald Trump being jailed pretrial. Look at one of the crimes that he has obviously, you know, been indicted for. And that is the theft and potential revelation of classified material here in the United States. You look at everybody else that has done that, that has taken classified information and shared it with anyone you know, Chelsea Manning,

Reality winner, uh, the dude a couple months ago, totally forget his name, but all of those people were detained pending their trial because of the seriousness of their offense, right? You took classified information from the government, you gave it to people. You can't do that. So we're sticking you in jail until your trial. And by the way, that was actually pointed out by, uh, Kevin Gust a couple weeks ago.
