Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley is trying to use the ongoing legal drama surrounding Donald Trump to her advantage, and she blasted the former President's chaos in an interview this week. Haley said that the "drama" created by Trump's problems is penetrating every aspect of the Republican primary to the point where that's all anyone talks about. Haley isn't wrong at all, and she's even right about the fact that this is making is hard for Republicans to talk about real things. But that may be a blessing for them, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

Donald Trump's announcement this week that he had gotten his target letter from Special prosecutor, Jack Smith, obviously captivated headlines and captivated news media left and right. Everybody's talking about it and nobody's talking about important issues that actually matter in that Republican primary, or at least that is the complaint from Donald Trump's Republican rival Nikki Haley. During an interview on Fox News this week, Nikki Haley voiced her annoyance at the so-called drama that Donald Trump has brought to this Republican race. Here is what Haley said. It's gonna keep on going. I mean, the rest of this primary election is gonna be in reference to Trump. It's gonna be about lawsuits, it's gonna be about legal fees, it's gonna be about judges, and it's just gonna continue to be a further and further distraction. That's why I'm running. It's because we need a new generational leader. We can't keep dealing with this drama. We can't keep dealing with the negativity. We can't keep dealing with all of this.

Now, she said more, and I'm gonna read that in a moment, but so far she's dead on right? When we get to that first Republican debate, the questions those candidates are gonna be asked, most of them are gonna pertain to Donald Trump. What do you think about having a nominee that might be a convicted felon? You know, what do you think about the indictments? Has the DOJ become weaponized against conservatives, yada, yada, yada. All in reference to what's happening to Donald Trump, right? That's how the media's treating it. That's the only reason Chris Christie is getting any oxygen in this race is cuz he's out there beating the hell outta Trump every day over these indictments. And Nikki Haley says, enough, we wanna talk about issues. And then here's the issues that she tells Fox News. They should be talking about. We've got China that's literally trying to be at war with us. You've gotta run building a bomb. You've got North Korea detaining a soldier and testing ballistic missiles. We need to focus on the debt and the lack of transparency in schools and crime and the craziness on the border. We can't be sitting there focused on lawsuits over and over again.

China is not trying to be at war with us, like China is not trying to start an actual military conflict with the United States. They're not actively doing that. That's simply not true. That is more scaremongering from Republicans because they know that nothing draws a person to vote Republican faster than the threat of a thermonuclear war. Which of course is why she brings up North Korea testing ballistic missiles, something North Korea does constantly. Like that's not a new thing that just started. Um, she brings up Iran building the bomb. No they're not. And by the way, we wouldn't even have to be concerned about that if Donald Trump had not pulled us outta that treaty that we had with Iran. So, you know, blame him for that. And then you start talking. We knew transparency in schools. What, what does that even mean? Like what? Transparency in schools. What does that even mean?

Nothing. It means nothing. What, what else does she say here? Uh, crime. Crime craziness on the border. You wanna talk about crime? No, you actually don't. Because first of all, you already said we shouldn't be talking about Trump's crimes.
