Former Trump Lawyer Hit With Disbarment Complaints

Two outside groups have filed legal complaints with the Colorado Bar, urging them to strip former Trump lawyer Jenna Ellis of her law license over her now-admitted crimes in Georgia. Lawyers losing their licenses for engaging in illegal behavior is quite common, especially when that illegal behavior is directly related to their job as a lawyer. Former Trump lawyer, Jenna Ellis has come a long way ever since she turned herself into that Georgia courthouse and smiled big for her mugshot photo. And that was probably the last good moment that she had because ever since then, everything has fallen apart for her. She has, of course, taken the plea deal from the prosecutors in Georgia. She has written her letter and expressed her deepest sympathies and regrets for everything that she did. But now, even after previously being sanctioned, uh, by the Colorado, uh, uh, attorney disciplinary committee to outside independent groups, the, uh, states United Democracy Center and lawyers defending American democracy, they've sent 134 page complaint to the Office of Attorney Regulation counsel with the Colorado Supreme Court asking them to consider disbarring Jenna Ellis from the Colorado State Bar, based on her actions that she of course has now pleaded guilty to in Georgia.

So what these groups are saying is like, listen, everybody makes mistakes, right? But her mistakes are actually directly related to her job as a lawyer. She used her position as a licensed attorney to do the things that were illegal. Therefore, she is abusing her license or had abused her license to do things that were illegal. Here's what they wrote. They said that her criminal conduct is a mere failure to conduct her due diligence. Uh, lies that Jenna Ellis helped spread about fraud and misconduct by Georgia voters and election administrators, administrators poisoned public trust in our elections, endangered election workers, and threatened our democracy.

So Jenna Ellis is likely going to have to face, you know, a pretty stiff investigation, I would say from this, uh, you know, disciplinary committee at the Colorado Supreme Court. She could lose her law license in the state of Colorado. She would still, if she's licensed in other states, that would not affect that unless other complaints were filed and they wanted to do the same thing. But the moral of the story here, regardless of the outcome, you know, whether they want to disbar her or they just investigate or they don't do anything, the moral of the story is that no lawyer that works for Donald Trump gets a happily ever after. Okay? Look at Michael Cohen. It took him years to put everything back together, and he is still not fully back together. You know, he's seen the error of his ways, I believe, you know, I mean, he seems genuine about his reformation, but Michael Cohen might be the exception to the rule. And he of course still was, you know, pretty much ruined for it. He did lose his law license. Uh, but then you got Rudy Giuliani, you get John Eastman, who

Likely is gonna lose his law license. Kenneth Chesbro, Sidney Powell. I mean, Alina Haba, who is still an active Trump lawyer, unlike these other people, she was out there making an of herself every day during the fraud trial. You think that's gonna help her get clients in the future when Trump is no longer around to pay her bills? All of these people are destroying their futures just to take on Donald Trump as a client, Christina, Bob and Evan Corcoran down in Florida, like they're going to be in, you know, these horrific situations. So there's no happy ending. Trump's going to be hiring more and more lawyers this coming year.
