Manchin believes that he has transcended Party labels, and feels that most of the country feels the same way. But Manchin isn't selling progress that brings people together - Manchin is selling corporatism to people who don't know how to spot the signs. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

Democratic Senator Joe Manchin has announced that he is going to take a two month tour of the United States to see if there's any appetite for him. Basically. Do people love me? Do people hate me? But he didn't exactly phrase it like that. Here is what Joe Manchin said, I started January, I'll be two months on the road, and all we're trying to do is just mobilize people like myself who feel like they're homeless, politically homeless. I don't recognize the Democratic party, and I have a D by my name. I have a lot of Republicans that don't recognize the Republican party that have ours by their name. I don't know if there's a movement. I really don't.

Aw, he's just, he's just trying to bring people together. Let's not be so tribal. He says we should all just work towards a better country and pass some legislation and maybe open up some more of those minds for coal exploitation and you know, maybe do a little more oil drilling and you know, give corporations a free pass when they give my entire state of West Virginia cancer, you know, real center things that Joe Manchin wants. Now, Joe Manchin is of course, flirting with a presidential bid. That is what this two month tour of the United States is all about. He's trying to see if people will fall for his, because that's what this is. Joe Manchin is not out there mad because the Democrats have lost their way, or the Republicans have lost their way. What he wants is a political movement disguised as a bridge moment between the left and the right, but is really nothing more than corporatism.

That's all Joe Manchin's ever done. He's not fighting for you. He is not fighting for me. He's not trying to heal the political divide of the country. He's trying to gather up enough people so that he can keep giving corporations massive tax breaks, massive handouts, massive subsidies. Let them destroy our environment because he likes that. Because when they do that, they give him some of the profits for his political campaigns. That's what this is about. I am all for bridging political divides. Don't get me wrong. I'm all for having more than just two people running for president. I like that idea, having multiple people. But what Joe Manchin is trying to do is pull the wool over people's eyes because he thinks everybody's stupid. And Joe Manchin's a guy that, yeah, over here on the left, we've talked about him a lot. So has everybody else. We've talked about how he is a wolf in sheep's clothing because he is a corporatist. He's not a Democrat or a Republican or anything else. He is a corporatist and he is not fighting for you. He is not trying to heal the country for you. He is just trying to secure enough votes, get enough people together so that corporations can continue to do whatever the hell they want in the United States of America, he is a professional

Bullshitter that nobody should take seriously, and nobody should have any faith in him for his pledge to heal the nation's political divide and offer a home for the politically homeless. No, you want that corporate money so bad, you can taste it, and you're willing to go on a two month scam tour to see how many people you can hoodwink into buying your fake healing language.
