At one point in his ridiculously long diatribe, Trump gushed over the fact that Putin even used his “campaign slogan”, which was probably all Putin needed to say in order to get everything he wanted from Trump. So this week Donald Trump finally got to have a phone call with his bestest buddy in the whole world. Nope, not Elon Musk. None other than Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Putin, of course, along with many others in the Russian government, are celebrating Tulsi Gabbard officially being confirmed as the director of National Intelligence. They've been posting on social media about how excited they are. But as far as we know, based on what Trump has said, Tulsi Gabbard didn't come up in this conversation that he had with Putin. Instead, Donald Trump posted a very lengthy thing on Truth Social, outlining everything that he and his good buddy talked about. And at one point, Donald Trump even gushed over the fact that Putin even used my campaign slogan. So instead of acting like the leader of the free world, for now, I don't know how free we're gonna be in the near future.

But anyway, Donald Trump was not acting like the president. He was acting like a giddy school child who just got off the phone with their crush. So here is what Donald Trump posted on Truth Social. And again, bear with me because holy hell, is this a long one. But this is what Trump had to say. I just had a lengthy and highly productive phone call with President Vladimir Putin of Russia. We discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, energy, artificial intelligence, the power of the dollar, and various other subjects. We both reflected on the great history of our nations and the fact that we fought so successfully together in World War II, remembering that Russia lost tens of millions of people and we likewise lost so many. We each talked about the strengths of our respective nations and the great benefit that we will someday have in working together.

But first, as we both agreed, we want to stop the millions of deaths taking place in the war with Russia, Ukraine. President Putin even used my very strong campaign motto of common sense. We both believe very strongly in it. We have agreed to work together very closely, including visiting each other's nations. We have also agreed. Before I continue, again, it's like a giddy school child that got off the phone with their crush. Like, we're even gonna visit each other. Like, we're gonna do a sleepover, we're gonna watch some movies, we're gonna make some prank phone calls, we're gonna make some popcorn. Like, it's totally gonna be the bestest night we've ever had. OMG. This is the president and he is acting like a school girl. He continues. We have also agreed to have our respective teams start negotiations immediately, and we will begin by calling President Zelensky of Ukraine to inform him of the conversation, something which I will be doing right now.

I have asked Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, Director of the CIA, John Ratcliffe, National Security Advisor, Michael Waltz and ambassador and special envoy Steve Witkoff, to lead the negotiations, which I feel strongly will be successful. Millions of people have died in a war that would not have happened if I were president, but it did happen. So it must end. No more lives should be lost. I want to thank President Putin for his time and effort with respect to this call and for the release yesterday of Marc Fogel, a wonderful man that I personally greeted last night at the White House. I believe this effort will lead to a successful conclusion, hopefully soon. Hopefully soon is a lot different than his campaign promise of I'll end it on day one. Right? You didn't even talk to Putin on day one, as far as we know. Maybe you guys were texting. I don't know. But here's the thing. What negotiations are gonna take place? Russia needs to immediately withdraw from Ukraine. They are the aggressors.
