During his interview with Fox News host Laura Ingram that aired this week, Donald Trump defended his decision to sell US citizenship for $5 million. Now, of course, this was an idea that Donald Trump threw out several weeks ago where he said, Hey, we want wealthy people to come in, so give me 5,000, uh, $5 million, excuse me. And instead of getting a green card, you're gonna get a gold card, a fast track to citizenship folks. So if you've got money, we want you, if you know you're a poor person who came across the border to go work a manual labor job to help our economy, you get the hell out. But if you've got money and you're gonna sit around and not do anything, come on in. That is Trump's America. So when Laura Ingram asked him about it, like, Hey, that doesn't seem very America first. Donald Trump said, oh no.

On the contrary, bringing in wealthy people from other countries is in fact somehow America first. Here is how that exchange took place. Laura Ingram asks him 5 million investment from a foreigner coming into the United States. Why should our citizenship be purchased for any amount of money, especially given the fact that you are America first? Now, before I read you Trump's response, let me say, if she hadn't added that last part, it would've been a very powerful question, right? Like what? Why? Why should citizenship be able to be purchased that? That's a valid question. It's a good question. But then she's like, you are America first. No, he's not. He's Trump first. Trump's second and Trump everything after that as well. But Trump responded, that's why, because I'm America first because at 5 million you're getting a lot of things, but you're getting 5 million. Let's say we sell a million of them, that's $5 trillion.

We are now an unbelievably successful country paying down tremendous amounts of debt. It's all going to pay down debt. We're going to have a very little debt if you did 5 million. Now, generally people that can pay 5 million are going to be job producers, okay? They're going to be successful, they're going to produce jobs. But here's another thing. Apple comes to me. A lot of companies come to me, they say, sir, we just made a deal to hire the number one student at the Wharton School of Finance, or at Harvard Business School or anything else, or MIT or Stanford or any of them. But they, they're going to throw them outta the country the day after graduation. They'll buy these. So you want Apple to pay you $5 million to keep one person in the country. A person who's not, by the way, a job producer, they're gonna be an employee. That's what you just said. That's what you just admitted, that companies will pay it to bring over one person at a time. And I gotta tell you, no, they won't listen. If anybody in any other country on the planet has the money

To pay $5 million just to become a citizen, something that typically only costs maybe a couple hundred, maybe a few thousand dollars, um, they're not gonna do it. You're certainly not gonna get a million of them. They're already wealthy people wherever they are. They don't need to leave. Like, what do you think is happening? They're wealthy, they're protected, they're probably pretty happy where they are. If not, as I mentioned, they would've immigrated to the United States years ago, they're not sitting around with hoards of money, like, oh, I hate where I am. They have the money to go wherever. If they can afford to buy citizenship for $5 million, why? Why does nobody point that out to him?
