7:57Now PlayingKevin Garnett wants to continue adding to his basketball legacy. The NBA legend joins Mike Hill on “Start Your Day” to discuss being inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame and what’s in the works for the Hoop It Up basketball tournament.
The NBA Hall of Famer talks about what it means to be in a class with the late Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan. Most important for him is to continue to honor his love for basketball, which he is doing through Hoop It Up.
Garnett hopes his purchase of Hoop It Up will add to the platform’s 32-year history of bringing together communities.
“It’s basketball,” Garnett says. “Anybody who loves basketball understands […] it’s a dope platform. It’s been around for a long time and I started to watch it diminish.”
The NBA icon and businessman is working on a feature film about the multi-city tournament. Garnett will be having a Juneteenth Jambouree in Atlanta that will be broadcast live on BNC on June 20.
