2:19Now PlayingBNC chief legal correspondent Dr. Laura McNeal explains that Arizona decided restrictive voting laws were not unconstitutional, and that they don’t violate the 1965 Voting Rights Act.
The law will only allow family members, caregivers and the voters themselves to turn in completed ballots. It also requires elected officials to throw out any ballot complete in the wrong district.
The reason this is important is because Arizona has a history of moving poll locations out of predominantly minority neighborhoods, and now the Supreme Court is not going to forbid those types of restrictive voting laws. Now in states like Georgia, they will make it a crime to pass out water in long voting lines.
