The women marched inside the U.S. Capitol Building and tried to work their way to the Senate Chambers but some of them were arrested and directed out of the building. This shows that Black women are on the frontlines of the battle to fight for the right of everyone to vote. They were chanting, “Let the people vote” before some of them were detained by police.
Tamika Mallory, a well-known activist, was inside the building. Previously, she spoke on BNC about her passion for voting rights.
