8:33Now PlayingStarting July 15, parents will begin to receive the first payments of the monthly child tax credit, which will last for six months. According to the IRS, parents will receive $300 per child under six years old, and $250 per child between the ages of 6 and 17.
Dr. Starsky Wilson, President and CEO of Children’s Defense Fund, joins “Start Your Day” with Sharon Reed and Shannon LaNier to talk about the tax credit.
“We’re excited about this day because it’s a benefit that’s extended to 65 million children in America,” Wilson says.
